About Ponder Construction

Nigel the Managing Director at Ponder Construction first started in construction at the age of 16 as a carpenter and bench joiner. After a 4-year apprenticeship Nigel became a self-employed carpenter, this included working in London on shop fitting, pub fitting and office refurbishments. In 2001 Nigel started his first business for bespoke joinery and building luxury houses which continued for four years. Nigel expanded and created Ponder Construction which has thrived and succeeded until this day and we can’t wait to see it blossom further. Nigel likes to spend his spare time mainly on the ski slopes or on his mountain bike and is known around the office for disliking microwave meals!

Richard first started as a carpenter and shop fitter in Colchester along side Nigel as an apprentice. He went on to become self-employed in Shoreditch fitting out luxury penthouses! Richard has since been a project manager for Maris, Paragon and the OD Group. He joined Ponder Construction as the senior project manager in 2009 and brings with him 36 years of experience. He manages all the sites, making sure everyone is where they need to be and have everything, they need on site to complete the task at hand. Richard is partial to beer and Ford Cosworths! But can’t abide Keith lemon or Garlic.

Anne has been with Ponder Construction for over 3 years as the Office Manager, she is responsible for the day to day smooth operation of the administration and also heads up the accounts department. Anne comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience within management, supports the MD and Senior Project Manager. Anne moved back 4 years ago from living in New York, where she had her own designer label of handbags, which she built through social media. She was a finalist out of 17 million brands in the Shorty Awards. Anne is most definitely the ‘Mother of the Office’ and regularly brings home made Sausage Rolls in to feed everyone. She hates kidney beans and is known for having more shoes than Imelda Marcos.
